Friday Jan. 27: In yet another horrific bombing in Baghdad, a taxi bomb blew up this morning in the city’s predominantly Shia Muslim district of Zafaraniya, killing 32 and injuring 60. The suicide bomber struck as mourners were participating in a funeral procession for a Shia man shot dead the day before. Junior doctor Lubna Kajl who works in a hospital in the area told BBC that the day’s events were horrific, but were becoming normal. (BBC)
